How to read a scoreline

A typical scoreline 6-4 3-6 6-2 means: the winner took the first set (6 games to 4), lost the second (3 to 6) and closed out the third (6 to 2). In best of three, two sets are enough.

Abbreviations you will see

• W.O. — walkover: the opponent never played (withdrew before the match)
• Ret. — retirement: withdrew during the match
• QF / SF / F — quarter-finals, semi-final, final
