Elise Mertens advanced to her first Monterrey final by defeating Bartunkova 1-6, 6-4, 6-2 in the semifinal of the Abierto GNP Seguros.

Mertens dropped the opening set 1-6 before rallying to take the next two 6-4 and 6-2. According to the WTA, this is Mertens’ first final appearance at the event.
