Badosa said she holds positive memories of the reception from Brazilian fans on previous visits to the country. She described the return as significant for her career, after several years without playing here.

The tournament runs from September 12 to 20 at Parque Villa-Lobos. Organizers warned that tickets are nearly sold out and urged those still hoping to secure entry to act quickly.
