Wang Xinyu advanced to the quarterfinals of the Singapore Tennis Open with a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Joanna Garland in the round of 16.

Maja Chwalinska also won in Singapore.

Elise Mertens will face Chwalinska, and the winner of that match will be Wang Xinyu’s quarterfinal opponent.
