Rain postpones Washington ATP 500 final between Fritz and Jodar to Monday
Persistent rainfall forces the ATP 500 Washington final between Taylor Fritz and Rafael Jodar from Sunday to Monday.
The championship match was originally scheduled for 14:30 on Sunday, but steady rainfall throughout the day prevented any play, according to TenisBrasil.
Fritz, the third seed and world No. 10, reached the final after defeating fellow American Brandon Nakashima in the semifinals. Jodar advanced by eliminating Alejandro Tabilo.
The American had been managing knee discomfort during the tournament and received treatment on Friday. However, he assured he would be fully fit for his semifinal appearance.
The rescheduled final will take place Monday.
