Grigor Dimitrov defeated Dalibor Svrcina 7-6(5), 1-6, 6-4 in his opening match at the Bastad ATP 250 after reaching Wimbledon’s fourth round.
The Bulgarian needed two hours and 24 minutes to overcome the Czech on clay. Dimitrov dropped the second set but closed out the match in the decider.
The victory marks a quick surface transition following his grass-court run at Wimbledon. He had reached the round of 16 at the Grand Slam event before switching back to clay for the Swedish tournament.
Also in the Bastad draw, Andrey Rublev is scheduled to make his debut against Italian Andrea Pellegrino, according to TenisBrasil.
