Gustavo Heide lost to Titouan Droguet in the Iasi Challenger 100 quarterfinals on Friday, falling 6-1, 6-3 in one hour and 18 minutes on clay.
The Brazilian was the only national player in the draw. His straight-sets defeat ended his campaign in Romania, but his quarterfinal run is expected to yield ranking points that will push him up the ATP ladder, according to TenisBrasil.
The result marks a mixed outcome for the São Paulo native: elimination before the semifinals, yet continued momentum in his 2024 season. Droguet advanced at his expense.
