Marcelo Melo and Alexander Zverev opened their doubles campaign at the Montreal Masters 1000 with a first-round victory over Canadians Duncan Chan and Alexis Galarneau. The pair entered the draw as the top seeds. The hard-court tournament offers total prize money of US$9,415,724.
Ingrid Martins and partner Ekaterina Ovcharenko also moved through their opening round at the W100 event in Landisville, USA. The third-seeded pair beat Alexandra Osborne of Australia and Hong Yi Cody Wong of Hong Kong. The hard-court tournament carries US$100,000 in prize money.
