Finnish qualifier Otto Virtanen beat Ben Shelton in five sets at Wimbledon, securing a second-round berth at the London Grand Slam in the biggest victory of his career.

Shelton entered as a heavy favorite but could not close out the match when the opportunity arose. Virtanen fought back from a losing position, forced a fifth set and converted to complete the upset.

Virtanen now awaits his second-round opponent as he continues his run on grass.
