Thiago Wild defeated Daniel Rincon 7/6 (10-8), 4/6, 6/3 to reach the Zug Challenger quarterfinals in Switzerland.
The Brazilian needed three sets to overcome the Spaniard, including a tight first-set tiebreak decided 10-8. After dropping the second set, Wild recovered to close out the match 6-3 in the third.
Wild will face either sixth seed Jerome Kym of Switzerland or a South African opponent in the next round, according to TenisBrasil.
