Tsitsipas parts ways with father Apostolos as coach at Wimbledon
Stefanos Tsitsipas announced he will no longer work with his father Apostolos as coach, citing a desire to make his own decisions — a major shift in his career structure.
Stefanos Tsitsipas announced the end of his coaching partnership with his father Apostolos during Wimbledon, marking the most significant structural change of his professional career.
“I believe we will not work together in the future,” Tsitsipas told journalist Vicky Georgatou. “Now I want to start making my own decisions.” He offered no further explanation beyond that stated desire for autonomy.
Apostolos had coached his son since the early stages of his professional career, overseeing a run that reached the top of the world rankings. No replacement has been confirmed for the position.
Without a coach in place, Tsitsipas is competing at Wimbledon in a configuration unprecedented in his career. His next scheduled commitment follows the grass-court Grand Slam.
