Alexander Zverev is into the Wimbledon final for the first time.

The German beat Arthur Fery 7-6(0), 6-2, 6-4 on Friday, July 10, ending the British wild card’s surprise run.

Zverev, the No. 2 seed, edged the first set in a tiebreak and then controlled the match. Fery had the Centre Court crowd behind him, but Zverev’s serve and baseline weight kept the semifinal out of reach.

Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic will decide the other finalist. Sinner is the defending champion; Djokovic is chasing another Wimbledon title.

The men’s final is scheduled for Sunday, July 12.
