Cruz Hewitt defeated Thijs Boogaard 6-4, 6-4 on Friday to reach the Wimbledon boys’ final.

The Australian teenager, son of former world No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt, overcame the 18-year-old Dutchman, ranked 50th in the junior standings, in straight sets to book his place in the championship match.

His run carries particular resonance at the All England Club, where his father claimed the gentlemen’s singles title in 2002. Lleyton Hewitt remains the most recent Australian man to win Wimbledon.

The final will pit the younger Hewitt against the winner of the remaining semifinal, with the teenager seeking to add his own chapter to the family’s history at the tournament.
