Former Brazilian number one Teliana Pereira became a mother for the second time Friday, delivering daughter Naomi inside a car in Curitiba with help from her partner, Paulo André.

The birth occurred after the baby arrived faster than the couple could reach a medical facility. Paulo André, who has been Pereira’s partner since mid-2023, assisted with the improvised delivery inside the vehicle.

Pereira, 34, works as a tennis commentator for ESPN Brasil. She reached a career-high ranking of 43rd in the WTA during her playing career and was the top-ranked Brazilian woman for a period.

The couple revealed the news Friday, according to TenisBrasil.
