Thiago Monteiro returns to the ATP Tour on Saturday in the Gstaad qualifying draw, facing France’s Pierre-Hugues Herbert.

The Brazilian will play his first match after a layoff when he takes on Herbert at approximately 6:30 a.m. Brasília time on the clay courts of the Swiss ATP 250 event, according to TenisBrasil.

Herbert, 35, is currently ranked 251st in the world. The Frenchman is primarily known for his doubles success but will pose Monteiro’s first test back in competition.

Monteiro, a former world No. 61, has been sidelined from the tour and will be looking to earn a place in the main draw through the qualifying rounds.
