Zambia is hosting an ITF World Tennis Tour event for the first time, with Lusaka Club staging two consecutive J30 tournaments starting Monday — a debut that opens the country to the international circuit at the junior level.

The club’s six clay courts provide the venue for both events. The back-to-back format extends the competitive calendar for young players in the region, allowing them to earn international ranking points without leaving the continent.

First step in circuit structure

J30 tournaments sit at the base of the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors hierarchy. For countries with limited history of hosting international events, entering this category means joining the federation’s official calendar and meeting the infrastructure standards required for future editions.

Before this week, Zambia had no ITF events registered on its territory. The two Lusaka Club tournaments formally inaugurate the country’s participation in the ITF competition system. No scheduling details for subsequent regional events have been announced.
