Gustavo Heide advanced to the Milan Challenger semifinal after defeating Dalla Valle 7-6, 7-6 in the quarterfinals, with both sets decided in tiebreaks on Italian clay.

The São Paulo native has now won four consecutive matches at the tournament without dropping a set — a level of consistency rarely sustained at the Challenger level.

The victory over Dalla Valle was Heide’s tightest of the week. Both tiebreaks stretched the Brazilian before he closed each set, but he converted in straight sets for the fourth time in as many matches.
