British wildcard Arthur Fery, 22, advanced to the Wimbledon 2026 semifinals after consecutive five-set comebacks, aided by a recent nose procedure that stopped frequent match interruptions from nosebleeds.

Fery defeated Flavio Cobolli in the quarter-finals to continue an improbable run at the All England Club. Earlier in the tournament, he rallied from behind to beat both Zizou Bergs and Grigor Dimitrov in five sets, winning each match in a final-set tie-break after trailing, according to The Guardian.

The wildcard entry had previously struggled with persistent nosebleeds during matches that forced repeated stoppages. He disclosed that the issue ceased following a surgical procedure on his nose, the newspaper reported.

Fery also credited a pre-match viewing habit: watching the Godfather trilogy as part of his preparation ritual. The practice has accompanied him through the tournament as he prepares for the biggest match of his career.

On Friday, Fery will face Alexander Zverev, the reigning Roland Garros champion, for a place in the Wimbledon final.
