Luís “Guto” Miguel advanced to the quarterfinals of the J300 in Roehampton, England, defeating American Jordan Lee 6-4, 6-4 in the round of 16 on Tuesday and Czech Jakub Kusy 6-2, 6-2 in the second round on Monday — all without losing a set.

Kusy, ranked 47th in the junior standings, offered little resistance on Monday. The following day, Lee proved more competitive but could not break through: the Brazilian took both sets 6-4 and has yet to drop a set in the tournament.

Roland Garros Champion on Grass

Miguel arrived at the Wimbledon warm-up event as the world’s top-ranked junior, a position earned after winning the Roland Garros junior title in June. In that Paris final, he defeated American Michael Antonius 6-3, 6-4, establishing himself as one of the top prospects in a generation following João Fonseca.

Quarterfinal Rematch With Antonius

Miguel now faces Antonius again for a place in the semifinal — a direct rematch of the Roland Garros junior final. The surface shifts from the Paris clay where he built his strongest results to London grass, adding a new variable for the world No. 1 heading into the quarterfinal.
