Jan-Lennard Struff rallied past Brandon Nakashima in five sets after saving a match point in the deciding set, with the American one point away from advancing.
Nakashima held serve to lead 5-4 in the fifth and reached match point but could not convert. That missed opportunity proved decisive.
Struff regrouped, broke Nakashima’s serve and closed out the match to advance in the tournament.
